2017 Blended Learning Lifeguard Course - $140.00

Blended learning combines online learning with in-person skills sessions where you will practice skills and demonstrate competency. Please plan to complete all eLearning modules, including the CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and First Aid final eLearning exam, prior to your first in-person skills session. Most participants complete the eLearning portion of the course in approximately 7 hours. Your experience may vary widely based on several factors including your PC, internet speed and previous training.

A swim test will be conducted during the first hour on the first day of the in-class portion. Candidates must pass the following physical skills test to continue the course:

  • Swim 300 yards continuously using either front-crawl and/or breaststroke
  • Tread water for 2 minutes using only legs
  • Complete the following timed event within 1 minute 40 seconds:
    1. Starting in the water, swim 20 yards
    2. Surface dive to a depth of 7 to 12 feet to retrieve a 10-pound object
    3. Return to the surface and swim 20 yards on the back to return to the starting point
    4. Exit the water without using a ladder or steps

Hip-Pack, pocket mask, and whistle will be provided to participants upon passing the swim test.
